Associate Professor Priv.-Dozent Dr. Dr. PhD Christos Perisanidis Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Medical University of Vienna

Dr. Perisanidis is currently Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna.

He leads several clinical and basic research studies focusing on treatment of patients with head and neck cancer. His research has been funded by the Anniversary Fund of the Austrian National Bank and the Fund of the Mayor of Vienna. In the context of his research activities, Professor Perisanidis has developed cooperations with internationally leading research groups and centers, such as the Biomarker Development Research Group and Center for Cancer Research, Medical University of Vienna, the Department of Medical Oncology, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, USA and Moores Cancer Center, University of California San Diego, USA.

He has authored or co-authored several peeer-reviewed articles, which have appeared in top journals such as Oral Oncology, Cancer Treatment Reviews, Clinical Cancer Research, and Annals of Oncology. He is member of the Editorial Board of Oral Oncology as well as reviewer for several renowned journals such as European Journal of Cancer, British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of numerous scientific societies including the European Association for Cranio Maxillo-Facial Surgery, the AO (Arbeitsgemeinschafft für Osteosynthese), and the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Medical University of Vienna. He has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Medical University of Vienna and has supervised several diploma theses. He has been appointed Curriculum Coordinator at the University Clinic of Dentistry in Vienna, Austria. He is visiting Senior Lecturer and faculty of the Implantology Master Program at the BPP University in London, UK.

Professor Perisanidis has organized and chaired many international conferences, symposia and seminars. He organizes and leads internationally renowned implantology courses at the Center of Anatomy of the Medical University of Vienna where basic and advanced surgical techniques are taught with lectures and practical workshops. He is regularly invited at many international courses and conferences as a plenary lecturer, keynote speaker or chairman.
